Carseland (5 minutes) – Carseland Food Market grocery/corner store, gas station, car wash, liquor store, restaurant, lounge, dog and horse boarding facilities.

Strathmore (15 minutes) – Tim Hortons, most major fast food restaurants, Boston Pizza, Original Joe’s, Wal-mart, Sobeys, No Frills, Co-op, Canadian Tire, Rona, Shoppers Drug Mart, ESSO, Petro-Canada, most major banks and many more shops and restaurants.

Langdon (15 minutes) – Gas station, coffee shop, veterinarian, corner store, barber shop and pharmacy.

Calgary (McKenzie Towne – 30 minutes) – Every major big box store, major restaurant chains (both fast food and sit down), most major banks, professional services (medical, lawyers, accountants, etc.)

Children attend school in Carseland for Kindergarten to Grade 6. Junior Highs and High Schools are located in Strathmore and bus service is provided with pick-ups/drop-offs right in Speargrass.

Post office is located in Carseland in the small strip mall next to Carseland Food Market.

Strathmore General Hospital located at 200 Brent Boulevard in Strathmore is the nearest hospital. South Health Campus, located just south of Highway 22X off Deerfoot Trail, in Calgary is also accessible. Fire and EMS are volunteer services based out of Carseland. The RCMP detachment in Strathmore provides police services for Speargrass.

Speargrass can recommend some very good local builders who would be very pleased to build your home for you.

Alternatively, you can bring a builder of your choosing or you may choose to build your home yourself. Please be aware that Speargrass does have architectural controls in place which limit what may or may not be built in Speargrass.

There are architectural controls in place at Speargrass. These controls, registered against the title of every lot, define what may and may not be built in Speargrass. Potential buyers should be aware that the controls for Phase II are slightly different than Phase I. We recommend potential buyers contact us regarding these architectural controls before purchasing and/or designing a home.
